100G transceivers from TIFNEX

100G QSFP28 is the most deployed data center optic today. TIFNEX supplies more than 370 100G modules: SR4 (MPO-12 multimode, 70m to 100m), CWDM4 and FR (2km), LR4 and LR (10km), ER4 (30km to 40km) and ZR4 (80km), plus CFP, CFP2 and CFP4 for router line cards.

Modules are coded for Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Dell, H3C, Extreme, Brocade and NVIDIA. For links inside a rack, 100G DAC and AOC cables are a lower-cost alternative. Our QSFP transceivers guide explains how QSFP28 compares with QSFP-DD and OSFP.

Common questions

What is the difference between 100G SR4, CWDM4 and LR4?

SR4 runs over multimode fiber with an MPO-12 connector for about 100m. CWDM4 runs over single-mode LC duplex for 2km. LR4 runs over single-mode LC duplex for 10km.

Can 100G QSFP28 be split into four 25G links?

Yes. SR4 and PSM4 modules can be broken out to four 25G links with an MPO-to-LC breakout harness, or you can use a QSFP28-to-4xSFP28 breakout cable.

Do QSFP28 modules fit QSFP-DD ports?

QSFP-DD ports are backward compatible with QSFP28 modules on most switches, running at 100G.
