From concept to a running data center
Tell us your goal and we will design the solution, recommend the exact products and deploy everything. Every solution page shows the recommended hardware, so you know exactly what you are buying and why.
Deployment scenarios
How the pieces fit together
Three reference architectures showing where optics, cables and fiber sit in a typical design. Use them as a starting point; we size every link to your platforms, distances and budget.
Illustrative reference architecture
AI training cluster (GPU back-end fabric)
A non-blocking, rail-optimized leaf–spine fabric where each GPU gets its own network port, kept separate from the front-end and storage networks.
- Server to leaf
- One 400G port per GPU (InfiniBand NDR or 400GbE RoCE), typically OSFP optics on the NIC; DAC or AOC where the leaf is in the same or next rack.
- Leaf to spine
- 800G twin-port OSFP switch optics (2×400G), multimode 2×SR4 for short runs or single-mode 2×DR4 over MPO-12 APC trunks for longer ones.
- Cabling
- MPO/MTP trunks and cassettes sized to the rail layout, plus a separate 1/10G out-of-band management network.
Illustrative reference architecture
Cloud / enterprise data center (leaf–spine)
A two-tier Clos fabric: every top-of-rack leaf connects to every spine, so any server is the same number of hops from any other.
- Server to leaf
- 25G SFP28, usually passive DAC inside the rack (a few metres) or 25G-SR optics over OM4 multimode.
- Leaf to spine
- 100G QSFP28: SR4 within a row (up to 100 m on OM4), CWDM4 (2 km) or LR4 (10 km) on single-mode between halls.
- Moving to 400G
- QSFP-DD or OSFP 400G-DR4 (500 m single-mode), which can break out to 4×100G-DR to reuse existing 100G leaf ports.
Illustrative reference architecture
Enterprise campus network
Core, distribution and access layers with redundant uplinks, single-mode fiber between buildings and PoE at the edge for phones, access points and cameras.
- Access to users
- 1G or multi-gigabit copper with PoE+ for Wi-Fi access points, IP phones and cameras.
- Access to distribution
- 10G SFP+ uplinks: 10G-SR over OM3/OM4 inside a building (up to 300–400 m), 10G-LR over single-mode (10 km).
- Distribution to core
- 25G–100G over OS2 single-mode between buildings, terminated in fiber enclosures with LC duplex patch cords.
These are typical reference designs that show how the components fit together. They are not descriptions of specific TIFNEX customer projects. Reaches are standard maximums; real designs depend on your fiber, connectors and link budget.
Why Tifnex
More than a hardware vendor
